Christmas do!
Hi all,
Yes, I know, it's probably a bit early to be thinking of the Xmas do, but I thought I might as well get the ball rolling.
At the last committee meeting it was agreed that I would arrange the same kind of do that we had last year, which seemed to work quite well. That is, we all meet up at the Bridge Hotel in Durham, you can order a bar meal if you want one, and we drink and chat. I seem to remember that we were thinking of Fri 14 Dec as the date.
I have checked with the pub, and we could reserve the top end of the bar where we were last time, free of charge. I think this would seat about twenty or so of us quite comfortably.
If there is a general preference for something different, then let me know. However, if people are wanting a booked dinner at a restaurant, someone else will have to arrange it because I just won't have the time I'm afraid.
That's all,
Dave.

xmas!
Ba, humbug! George, surely you've got your wish-list of climbing gear all ready for Santa?!
Dave, thanks for being organised - some of us are already running out of December Friday nights! I'd vote for booking out the area in the Bridge - nowhere else is going to offer us that facility free of charge so close to the festive season.
We can always go out round the town later if we fancy a change of scene - i'm hoping to be able to walk this year (at least at the start of the evening!!)

Hi all,
The venue for the Xmas do is now booked! It's the Bridge Hotel by the railway bridge in Durham. The top end of the bar, tables 1 to 4 are reserved in my name 14 Dec from 7.30pm onwards. They are even going to put Xmas crackers on the table for us!

Christmas do reminder
Hi everyone,
Thought I'd better post a reminder for the Christmas do.
I have phoned the pub to confirm our attendance. We have tables 1 to 4 booked in my name. 14th December 7.30pm onwards. The pub does good quality pub food, they also have a Christmas menu that you can choose from. There is no-one booked onto those tables after us, so it looks like we can have that corner of the pub for the night.
I have planned for a turn out of around twenty, we had at least that many last year. There is no real limit on numbers, you don't have to book a place, just turn up when you want to. Obviously, I would like to see most people turning up between 7.30 and 8pm as this is what I have indicated to the manageress.
That's all for now.
David.
