Alan Hinkes is the first Briton to climb ALL the world's highest mountains. Only 12 other people have achieved this feat. Many have perished trying.

Alan started his mountaineering career at an early age, progressing to the Alps with ascents of many difficult mountains, including the notorious North Face of the Eiger, eventually graduating to the Himalaya. Alan writes for magazines such as Trail, is an accomplished cameraman (filming 11 documentaries), and photographer. As a local man, Alan will talk about his fantastic achievements in the Himalaya along with his adventures in Teesdale and the surrounding area.
