Winter day walks

Post by pennyswaine »

In my continuing quest to have a fully functioning knee, I am planning to complete a series of local day walks locally. Venues and meeting places to be decided prior to each walk depending on weather conditions, but in the meantime if you are interested make a note of the dates below

Either 5th or 6th Nov, 19th Nov, 4th Dec, 17th Dec

Hi Penny
On the 19th November (I can't do either of the other November dates) do you fancy doing a walk in the Yorkshire Dales? There would be two good options:-
1) walk from Leyburn to Redmire and then get a steam train back. This walk is about 5.5 miles long
2) begin at Redmire and walk to castle bolton, on to asgarth falls and continue the round back to redmire. This walk is about 8.5 miles long.
There is a great dog friendly pub in Redmire which serves good food but also coffee and cake - which would be deserved after a walk :) I'd have Scampie the cocker spaniel with me.
Both walks are over fairly easy ground.
