Hello.

Got this message formthe Fire & Ice Club, who are a Durham based group of expedition mountaineers. I came across a photo of them in Cotswold Outdoors in Durham & left a message. They are having a charity raising event this coming Thurs in Belmont, & issued us with an open invite.

If anyone is intersted, let me know, by be 20th at the latest, as they want to get an idea of numbers for parking purposes.

Below is a resume of the info they sent me...

Fire and Ice were formed in 2004 and we climb mountains around the world. We deliver presentations and talks. The team has evolved over the years but one thing that remains constant is our regular donations to local charities and have reached approx. £75,000 now through our efforts.

Please find attached an open invitation to our 8th annual Fire and Ice Charity Give Away evening at the Ramside Hall Hotel on Thurs 21st october (7pm). We will be delivering a couple of presentations on our expeditions from 2010 Denali (Alaska) and Mont Blanc, and just as important giving away donations to six charities. It's a very informal evening with a small buffet and (hopefully) lots of gateaux!! Please feel free to touch base with us.

We often meet in the Tap and Spile and note that is one of your haunts as well ... small world.

Charity Presentation Evening

As a friend or supporter of Fire and Ice an invitation is extended to you to attend the annual Fire and Ice Charity Presentation evening in the Bishops Suite, Ramside Hall Hotel, Carrville, Durham on Thursday, 21st October 2010. The evening will provide the Fire and Ice Team with an opportunity to thank all our sponsors, friends and supporters, and present donations to six recipient NE charities.

We will host the reception from 7.00pm, with the presentations starting at 7:30pm, with a finishing time of 9.30pm (approx). The dress is casual, a small buffet is provided, there will be a small raffle and you will have the opportunity to purchase Fire and Ice merchandise. The Fire and Ice team will also deliver colourful and interesting presentations with anecdotes and photographs from our recent 2010 expeditions to Denali (Alaska) and Mont Blanc (French Alps).

Our concept continues to promote Life Challenges and Equality & Diversity. We deliver this theme through our voluntary work with organisations and in schools using our experiences, anecdotes, factual information and beautiful colourful photography from our worldwide cultural and high altitude experiences. We use leadership models and terminology including ‘Inveniam Viam aut Faciam’ – we’ll find a way or make a way. All our funds are donated to local charities - Fire and Ice have donated over £65,000 in the last 7 years.
