Day walk - Sunday 17th May

Post by pennyswaine »

The aim is to meet at the school house car park at the end of the Coquet Valley approximately 5 miles past Alwinton (grid ref 867104)
It's about a 2hour drive maximum from Durham . From there we'll walk up Barrow law and Ward Law to Windy Gyle on the borders ridge returning via The Street. It's about 5 hours round leaving time to visit the cafe with massive tea pots in Rothbury afterwards! For the more energetic it is possible to follow the ridge to Lamb Hill but you risk missing the cafe!! Fantastic views into Scotland if not too cloudy. Please try to confirm if you are coming so we know to wait for you.

Sorry David - you are the only definite confirmation and I'm really not well so I am cancelling. Sorry about short notice. If I'd have had definite commitments I probably would have arranged for some one to take over.
