I've just moved to Durham - usual story, looking to join a club, meet some local people and have some fun out on the hills!
Bit about me - I've been mountain biking and rock climbing for a few years. Only lead HVD but keen to get better. Also love doing big hill days, either hiking or biking. I've just started working at Berghaus, a month into the new role.
Anyway - I'm going to head down to the pub meet on 5th April but thought I'd introduce myself on the forum first. If anyone would like to meet up before the 5th April for a climb/bike/hike, let me know. Would be great to meet some people, after living in Birmingham for 6 years!
Hi there, welcome to the club. Check out the forums and post if you fancy going along. I will be climbing this Saturday in the lakes if the weather is fine, might be going friday night and camping not sure yet but your more than welcome to come along.
welcome to DMS. The climbing group meets each Tuesday at the local indoor walls and this Tuesday (March 22nd) is at Newcastle climbing centre in Byker.
Google its location if you can make it and look out for anyone with a DMS shirt on. We'll be there from about 07:30.
Seen as its not nice and warm yet but not too cold we were planning on something from moderate to severe in the langdale area, Something like Crescent climb (m) and Gwaynes chimney (diff) on Pavey Arc, Brackett and Slab (s) Gimmer or Bowefell buttress (Vdiff) on Bowfell. totally up to you if you want to lead anything. We will be camping friday night, probably on the National Trust Site. Heres my number 07802281030.
Great thanks - I'll give you a call during the week to sort. I haven't climbed since last summer but happy to second anything and will lead any Diff, V.Diff.
