A good day skiing + boarding was had today with about 100 people turning up and enjoying some nice (if bitterley cold) weather. There has been about 2" of fresh snow tonight in Stanhope with the possibility of more overnight so it is looking very promising for tomorrow. We are planning to open from about 10am on Sunday. There may be skiing through next week but the answerphone (01388 527527) will be updated giving latest information as it depends on who is available to run the lifts (as most of us have full time jobs!).

The road today was quite tricky and 4WD or chains were necessary and are likely to be needed tomorrow as well. There is a layby at the bottom (before you turn up to the slopes) where these can be put on. It is sometimes possible to put them on further up the road but please do not obstruct the road or any farms or entrances etc.

The charge for day members is £15 - please try and bring the correct change and pay at the kiosk at the bottom lift before skiing. If there is not a committee member present just ask. Will members please either wear their membership cards or show them at the kiosk before skiing.

As the daylight disappears early this time of year we will be closing down the lifts from 3pm or soon after. We skied till 3:40 today but it was getting a little late so likely to be a bit earlier tomorrow. I was also rather cold so do wrap up well, especially if there is a wind.
