Day Walk - Sat 28th Nov

Post by pennyswaine »

Nigel and I have colluded and we are organising a day walk in the Northumberland area for sat 28th Nov. This is the day after the chill out night at the Elm tree. Venue to be decided nearer the time depending on weather but there is a variety of options from the Borders ridge if fine to the area around St Cuthbert's cave if rather inclement. Any walk will definitely finish in a cafe!!

Include me in on the trip.

I can swing through Durham on the way north, if anyone wants a lift.

I'd like to do a walk on the ridge for St. Cuthbert's cave but can't find it on a map. It might be on no.75 which I'm too mean to buy because it's mostly sea!!
So...how about hadrian's wall - meeting at the Steel rigg car park at 10am?
Forecast long term for showers and blustery winds - not too bad but these things change.

Oops, am also planning on coming - be good to see the light of day at this time of year!! Would it make sense to meet somewhere to all go up in one or two cars from Durham?

Cheers!

To clarify meeting point is Belford, just off the A1 near Bamburgh. Meet at the Blue Bell pub, which is in front of you, at the top of the high street, where the B6349 to Wooler turns left off the high street. If I remember correctly you can park in front of the pub.

The walk will be to the area of St Cuthberts Cave and Kyloe Hills - not that much of a surprise or mystery after all.

Post if you are coming so we don't set off without you.

Penny, Nigel, Jenny, Sue, Mike F, + Josh and Jack. Enjoyed a glorious autumnal walk, around the Belford area, golden light and clear views out to the Cheviots and Lindisfarne. As usual, Sue provided some of her excellent cake to fuel the bimble which finished just as the sun was starting to set, and just in time for cream teas in the Tea shop as promised.
