I have just had an email from a member of the Weardale Ski Club, who has returned from Scotland where he states that skiing conditions are excellent - the best for years - and predicted to continue until 5th May. He suggests check out this website - http://www.winterhighland.info/ - which has photos of all the resorts and does look rather nice. Although it snowed in Weardale last night + today there is only had a thin covering so it is unlikely we will get any more skiing in this year (but you never know) so why not give Scotland a try?
I would like to point out that conditions are not always better in Scotland than Weardale, in February there was a superb weekend skiing in weardale whilst skiing was impossible in Scotland due to bad weather!

Re: Skiing in Scotland April 2008
Scotland is nearly always best in March/ April and sometimes into May - it takes several months for the gullies to fill in with snow, and the weather is usually poor before that.. so it's always worth keeping an eye on conditions up there late n the season...
Speaking of snow theres still quite a bit on the higher lake district tops (Helvellyn and Scafell) by the looks of it - we could see fairly white tops from Borrowdale this weekend...
