Sat 7 /Sun 8 Feb Weardale

If conditions are still good on Sat and / or Sun this coming weekend then I intend skiing if anyone else is interested?

Me, me, me!! Paid my membership, got the gear, been busy every snowy weekend so far!!
Got to go into work one day though - Skiing Saturday would suit me best but happy to be guided by the weather!

I'll keep practicing my snow dance......

Update from Weardale ski club 05/02/15:

No skiing today Thursday 5th Feb- plan to open Friday, Saturday and Sunday assuming conditions remain favourable- Dont forget members only at weekend

Some of us might ski Friday, then I will probably also ski Saturday.

If you go saturday any chance of a lift? I have snow chains but have no idea how to use them and it'll mean borrowing Mark's car! :-/

Was up at Lanehead this morning and it was positively alpine! Blue skies, deep snow, cold and still... so should be good conditions at Westgate. Unfortunately I was working this morning, but on the plus side i'm out tomorrow doing the Pennine Way survey on my nordic skis

Update on snow report, doesn't sound promising unfortunately.

There has been a bit of a thaw today with light rain in Stanhope which has washed away some snow. We are not sure what has happened to the snow on Swinhope Moor and a lot depends on temperatures overnight. We are therefore not sure whether we will be opening on Friday or indeed Saturday but will update the answer phone soon after 9am.

Update from this morning:

Fri, 6 Feb 2015 08:25:

Tows will not run today Friday- possibly Saturday- but definitely Sunday for
the barbecue which will take place come what may- we expect there to be
enough snow for skiing at least down F1- don't forget Weekend is members
only

Based on this, I think give it a miss tomorrow - hopefully we will get some more snow before the end of winter. Plus there is plenty of snow at Aviemore for next weekend
