Planning on going to Thorpe Wood (nr Thorpe Thewles) on Saturday (weather permitting!). Aiming to get there for picnic at around 12:30, having a play in the playground then going for a walk at around 2pm. It is aimed at families as there is a great playground and good paths for buggies but all welcome.

Family Inglis will come along. Do you have more directions as I don't think we have this OS map? Will bring baby carrier for some walking. (And the baby!).

Thorpe Wood is just of the A177 towards Stockton. There is an observatory there which I think is signposted from the A177 and I think the picnic area is also signed, but I'm not sure. The turning is on the LHS (if going towards Stockton!) at a cross roads to Thorpe Thewles to right.
Hope that helps. We are still planning on going even though we are likely to get some rain. Picnic in the rain typical English!
See you there

Sorry for the late decision, but the rain is too bad we have decided to cry off. Thought it would only be a shower but it seems more persistant than that. Hope to do this walk again sometime later in the year.
