Decembers day activity

As it is my responsibility to organize something for December, I thought I'd bring a little Canadian fun into the English midst. Is there any one interested in playing a mild form of ice hockey known as floor hockey. A bunch of people out on the gymnasium floor with plastic hockey sticks and a plastic puck. What could go wrong! Non violent and definately not organized. Just good clean fun I assure you. With every thing being booked for Chrismas there are only a few decent slots available. Evenings from 7 to 9 for start times. I thought one maybe two hours would be enough. If for some reason people got bored with that we could always switch over to basketball or something silly like that. If anyone is interested please let me know asap. The booking slots will go fast. Good sport for kids as well. I was told there are some brave English out there. Now is the time of reckoning!

Hi Rob
Me and Daniel will definately be interested. Sounds like great fun. As long as it's not going to be too violent, got enough bruises off climbing!
Count us in !!!!

Hi guys
So far it looks like the earliest I can book it is on Wed the 12th at 8pm. The cost is only £32/ hr, so if enough of us can go it will cost less than a pint. We would also need to decide on one or two hours. How energetic are you? I can book it a week in advance so it would be nice to know fairly soon. About 10 or more people would be ideal. come on lets have some fun!

Regretably I wasn't able to get to the pub meeting to discuss the floor hockey with anyone to do any recruiting. There is still plenty of time as I will end up booking it for the 19th of the month At 8pm. Hopefully it won't interfear with anyones x-mas work partys. We need to have at least ten or more people to make a go of it.
So far the list is only:
Rob
Daniel

I assure you all the game is only as rough as you make it. If you feel a bit frisky at the time you might give someone a nudge, but other than that we are all friends, I hope, and need to work the next day. Besides I'll have my two boys there to show you all how to do it. It will be at the Meddifield leisure center on the A690 down from Nevilles Cross going away from Durham towards Branspeth castle. Really is not a violent game. You'll all want to make it a regular DMS club activity.

Hi Rob,
I hope we get a few more takers - as its an official monthly event I think there is a strong case for the 'management' to be seen to be supporting it and get involved so get yer name down phil

Hello all
there hasn't been much response for the easy peasy floor hockey. I'm going to book it any way for the 19th and hope that all you men out there are not as wimpy as some people are suggesting. As for the women, well I suppose worrying about a broken nail might make you think twice about joining in.

Come on people its a good time, and makes you feel alive. Not that your all a bunch of corpses.

Hi all
It looks like there may be a good turn out. I hope this doesnt bother anyone. I was only allowed to book the venue a week in advance. So when I called up someone had snuck in and got the 8pm slot.

so I booked for 9pm instead. I hope going to bed an hour later doesnt upset everyones lifestyles. Hope to see you all there next Wed
Just to remind you all where it will be.
Meadowfield leisure centre on the main road. Beside the police station. 9pm Wednesday 19th of Dec.
