I'm proposing a day of ice climbing and snow antics at Xscape, Castleford near Leeds, sometime in Feb if anyone is interested. If you are, have a look at the website http://www.xscape.co.uk for a taster. There are all sorts of activities including skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing and loads more.....

If you're a novice (like me) or you just want to try something new there are lessons on offer.

Have a look at the website and let me know what you think.....

Shame about the ice wall being closed, but the the rock climbing wall looks impressive and there is also an aerial assault course to tackle!

I suggest the weekend of the 3rd/4th Feb or 24th/25th Feb (either Sat or Sun) which ever people prefer :?:

I been to the ice wall and snow slope at X scape near Castleford and can highly recommend both.

The web site states 'The Vertical Chill Ice Climbing Wall is now closed. Check out our new exciting developments for this area in Spring 2007',
so I hope that the ice wall will open again soon.

As for the climbing, I would not get too excited. The wall is aimed at non climbers so the holds are huge and very closely spaced. IF you are keen to try a wall in that area I would recommend Leeds Wall, other wise save your money for the skiing :)

Sorry folks,

The weekend of 3rd/4th Feb is fully booked for skiing lessons, but the slopes will be available if people still want to go, however, I'm trying for the last weekend of Feb for both lessons and slopes so I'll keep you all posted.

Cheers :(

I'm quite keen to join you for a skiing lesson on the 24th as long as i can get the day off work. If you could count me in as a yes for now and i'll let you know asap if i can't make it. Ed will probably come too but don't think he'll want a lesson.

Cheers,

laura

Hi Sarah
Count me and one boy in for the skiing with one lesson, as the other boy will be in Austria on school ski trip. Hope this isn't turning into too much hassle for you! Thanx
