Banff Mountain Film Festival 3rd Feb Whitley Bay
UK Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour - Friday 3rd February in Whitley Bay at the Playhouse Theatre
The night will feature the best of the best adventure films from one of the world’s most prestigious mountain film festivals. We will be showing an award-winning mountaineering film called Cold which was created from raw footage of the first ever winter ascent of an 8,000m peak in Pakistan as well as other films featuring adventure sports such as kayaking/ climbing/ skiing/ mountain biking.
This will be our first year in the Tyneside area so we are really keen just to get the word out there to people who love the outdoors. We have lots of local outdoor groups and clubs come along to screenings right around the UK as a midwinter social event. There will be lots of free prize giveaways on the night (including backpacks, bags, head torches, t-shirts, etc) as well as overall Banff Tour prizes of a mountain bike and a ski trip for two to Canada.
We would be extremely grateful if you could mention the screening to your group as a possible social event? The screening starts at 7:30pm, doors and the bar open at 6:30pm - the bar will be open during interval too!
You can check out more details on our website banff-uk.com (there is a trailer here and a bit of info about the films). If you can get a group of 8 or more to come along let me know and we can sort out a group discount. If you have any questions/feedback about coming please let me know - it would be brilliant if you could make it!
Kind Regards,
Simon Piper

Anyone fancy this? Could have a bite to eat before hand if people can make it early enough?

Penny, Sue, Dave & anyone else that want's to go but doesn't have a ticket yet,
I've spoken to Simon & he's sending me an email with instructions on how to book tickets direct with the organiser in order to get a discount.
There's me & at least 5 mates going so that's 9 of us so far.
Dave can you just confirm your coming.
Anyone who wants to eat before then, meet at the Ahar curry house which is on Marine Ave just down from the Playhouse 6 to 6.30
As soon as I get the email I'll post what we're supposed to do.

Here's the link for everyone that hasn't yet purchased tickets: http://www.banff-uk.com/WHITLEY-BAY-GRO ... 31851).htm
Just go ahead and pay for however many tickets you want & your name will be held at the box office (ie; no ticket printed or issued). They're £9.50 each with no booking fee so happy days

Re: Banff Mountain Film Festival 3rd Feb Whitley Bay
Penny & anyone else that isn't sure of the situation with tickets:
Sharon & Les have already bought their tickets before they realised a discount was available.
Simon, one of the organisers of the festival has created the web page I have provided the link to specifically for DMS.
This means as an individual you can follow the link and buy any amount of tickets you want at the group discount price of £9.50 with no booking fee.
The standard price for a ticket is £11 + £1.75 booking fee =£12.75
Once purchased a ticket is not issued but your name will be held at the box office.
I'm going to the Newcastle wall at 3.30pm for a climb with a mate of mine who is coming with us later. Anyone is welcome to join us at the wall.
Between 6 & 6:30 myself & about 5 mates are going to the curry house to meet Sharon & Les & anyone else that wants or is able to join us.
I realise that some people may not be able to get to Whitley Bay early enough so if people let me know who is coming for a curry then I'll book a table & we can meet everyone else in the lobby.
Penny you are in my gang.

Re: Banff Mountain Film Festival 3rd Feb Whitley Bay
Yay!!!
Thanks Steve - that all made sense.
I'd like to come for a curry. I haven't got satnav so any chance of some micky mouse directions to find the curry house? I do not know Whitley Bay at all so start at somewhere obvious next to the sea!
