Hi all,

As mentioned in the pub on Tuesday, friends and I will be doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks (pen-y-gent, whernside, and inglebrough, starting from Horton in Ribblesdale) on the 4th June.

There is some discussion over whether we wil go over on the sat morning and camp sat night or go fri night and camp both, or just do it as a day trip! You would be free to do it as you wanted, as long as we all meet for a given a start time (TBC) to meet in Horton.

I will post further details as I firm them up, but it will definately be the 4th June and will be an early start as we will be aiming for 10 hours or less!

Let me know if you are interested,

Badger (Mark).

This is it good people, aiming to be away from Horton no later than 0930 Saturday morning. We're camping the Friday and Saturday, but others might be heading over for the day.

Staying over could be good to relax with those apres-walk cocktails

The Golden Lion at Horton ( 01729 860206 ) does B&B (pricey), or bunkhouse sleeping 15 at £12pppn. It's all in bunks in one room so can get a bit cosy. Think 'Great Escape'. There's free camping in the small field behind the pub but no facilities unless the pub is open.

Next door is Holme Farm campsite ( 01729 860281 ) which is a reasonable size and has traditional but acceptable lavvies/showers. No reply on phone this afternoon so don't know how much, but I think I'll probably go with this one.
