Quite a while back, a few of us discussed the idea of going out to a concert of some sort (inspired by the trip to see Anya at the Sage).

A suggestion then:
English Touring Opera are at the Gala in Durham on Monday 16 May. They are performing two of Puccini's short one act operas, on one evening:
the Tabarro and Gianni Schicchi
The production has had good reviews, sung in italian with projected subtitles.
Details are on the Gala website.

A few people have expressed some interest, post up if you want to go.

Sounds great, do you know ticket prices?

Would anyone fance the folk night one week at the T and S too? or they have one at a pub in Tudhoe village. Proper mountaineers like folk and roc and drink real ale don't you know?!!!

I like folk music (and singing!) so interested. Also very interested in the opera.

I'm interested in all of the above but not sure when I'll be mobile after op so can't commit to anything. May seems to be likely to be out so keep coming with the ideas in June and I'll join in then!!

I'd be up for the opera too - sounds like a nice change from my cranky car tape player!

That's great. I've rung the box office regarding availability of tickets to A Mid summer nights dream and was told they have 600 tickets allocated to the cricket ground. There is ample available at the moment.
