Kultural outings

Quite a while back, a few of us discussed the idea of going out to a concert of some sort (inspired by the trip to see Anya at the Sage).

A suggestion then:
English Touring Opera are at the Gala in Durham on Monday 16 May. They are performing two of Puccini's short one act operas, on one evening:
the Tabarro and Gianni Schicchi
The production has had good reviews, sung in italian with projected subtitles.
Details are on the Gala website.

A few people have expressed some interest, post up if you want to go.

Another option for folk music is Darlington Arts Centre. A folk club meets there weekly and occasionally has special guests. http://www.communigate.co.uk/ne/folkmusic2/index.phtml

I'm interested in all of the above but not sure when I'll be mobile after op so can't commit to anything. May seems to be likely to be out so keep coming with the ideas in June and I'll join in then!!

I'd be up for the opera too - sounds like a nice change from my cranky car tape player!

I have booked 5 seats for the opera, for those who have committed to go:
Mike, Celeste, Jo F, Penny, and Sue.

If anyone else wants to join us, our seats are Q1 -3 and X3-4 (leg room/easy access for Penny), currently there are seats behind us free in Row R.

Hi everyone

Are you attending the pre-opera talk? I'd quite like too.

Thank you, Mike, for the ticket. Will bring you the money on Monday night.

I'd like to; Penny are you up for going to the pre-opera talk?

Hi Christine,
That's great. I've rung the box office regarding availability of tickets to A Mid summer nights dream and was told they have 600 tickets allocated to the cricket ground. There is ample available at the moment.
