Ronan and I are planning a day trip over to the Lakes to do Hellvelyn (east flank route) on Monday 27th if anyone would like to join us you are welcome (and you can skive off work....and you are not too hungover from Felix's leaving bash...!)

I've heard that gaiters are essential when doing Hellvelyn

yes yes ... I remember reading something about gaiters and helvellyn .... thanks for the top tip anyway ... strangely, a long long time ago, when black and white TV first appeared, I used to have a lovely pair of black gaiters .... then a right bounder sort of chap wandered off with them in the Highlands ... must be more careful !!

If I can't make the pub night I'll bring them to the Langdale bash. If I forget (again) I will allow you to march me into Ambleside to get you some new ones, though not for £250.
