An outing to Hadrian's Wall.

Starting from National Trust car park at Steel Rigg about 10 miles. Taking in many of the sites/sights to be found on the most spectacular section of the Wall.
passing Vindolanda, Housesteads, and walking the Whin sill section of the wall over Crag Lough and Peel Crag. Hopefully meeting up with the climbers, to sample the real ales at Twice Brewed.

Parking at Steel rigg is £3 per day, therefore might be an idea to arrange some car sharing from Durham.

Post if interested.

Sounds good. I'm thinking of staying overnight at once brewed youth hostel, I can give a lift up from Durham but would be returning on Sunday.

Anymore takers for this walk. Weather looks reasonable.

Meet 1030 at Steel Rigg : Grid Ref. NY 750676.
Follow signs for Vistors centre/Vindlanda off the A69, shortly after Bardon Mill.
Pass Vindolanda, at the junction with the Military Road at Once Brewed (Visitor Centre and YHA) go straight ahead at the staggered junction (slightly to right).
Car park is at the top of the hill in trees.

Thank you to Sharon, Les and Mike for a splendid day out, I've enjoyed the walk and the banter. And thanks to Mike for leading the walk, the route was a very good choice. Two thumbs up.
