Christmas outing (for discussion)

Hi

Kathy and I posted earlier in the year that we would try and have the Christmas Social on Friday 11th December at the Bridge.

Do DMS members still want to go with this, some of us will be going to Ratho (Edinburgh) the day after.

As we have many members with young families (this normally means one of the parents is at home baby sitting), would you like to have a walk/bike ride (suitable for all ages/abilities) around Durham on the Saturday morning before Christmas with lunch planned at a local pub with good ale. This could continue into the evening if people wanted. But it would be nice to see more members together for a social.

Please post your thoughts about, we could go for both or you may have a new idea.

Wendy :)

Personally I like the idea of having both, then I'll have twice the chance of making an event!

Hi

Just to complicate things, how about having meal on 11.12 and then a meal/walk in between Christmas and New Year? Maybe 27th/28th? or the weekend after? Always a good excuse to escape from Aunty Edna and her repeated tale of the sherry glasses...

That sounds like a good idea Kathy.

Should we have the meal on the 11th at the Bridge?

We can discuss a walk in between Xmas and New Year on Tuesday Pub night.

Hello :)

We agreed at the pub last night, that the official Xmas night out will be on Friday 11th December at the Bridge Hotel in Durham.

I have telephoned the Bridge and they have reserved an area for us from 7.30pm. Same arrangement as last year, order your food when you arrive. I estimated there should be about 20 of us, hopefully more!

Please add to post if you will be joining us, in case I need to get the Bridge to reserve a larger area.

Wendy :)
