The Weardale Ski Club Ltd
It is currently snowing in Weardale - only a light covering at ground level in Stanhope at 8pm but still snowing + settling on higher ground. We hope to open for skiing tomorrow but please check with the answerphone (01388 527527) before travelling. The answerphone message will be updated between 8:30 + 9am on sunday morning once the conditions have been assessed. You can always check the webcam in the morning (http://www.skiweardale.co.uk) - the photo is updated at 8:30am.
Please carry a shovel in your car as a minimum and preferably chains as well and remember to park at a 45 degree angle to the fence, nose first as close as possible to the fence. Don't worry about getting stuck as there are always people to help you get the car out if it gets stuck.
There was a good write up in the Guardian on thursday about skiing in England which gives us a good mention - it can be viewed on-line at http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2008/d ... d?page=all. If anyone has a spare copy of the original in the guardian I would be grateful for it so that I can post it up in the ski lodge.
